Many see this as a great opportunity to do ‘world-to-world’ business. The HOST Show is truly an arena for global business.

As an exhibitor at the HOST Show Eatgood Sweden AB as a company continues an unforgettable journey towards Healthier and Better food for the mass markets with Lightfry and Air Fry Technology for commercial use. Our booth was a very vibrant one with activities attracting a diverse and enthusiastic audience showing an increased level of interest of Lightfry equipment and Air Fry Technology in general. Visitors from various corners of the world stopped by in the Lightfry booth and their curiosity was triggered by the prospects of commercial air frying. The event gave us the perfect stage to showcase our Lightfry Cooking System, providing technical insights and to demonstrate the Lightfry unit, our commercial air fryer and its capabilities coming to width and versatility regarding cooking many different food produce from fresh to frozen, from veggies to meat. Visitors not only learned about our technology but also indulged in food tasting sessions, relishing the delightful samples prepared using Lightfry.

Eatgood Sweden made the 4th HOST Show, first one in 2017, and we can really see the difference in attitude and interest of the Lightfry Cooking System and Air Fry Technology in general. Having end users, restaurant owners, chefs and distributors of restaurant equipment telling us where the market is going, when it comes to fried food, and that is towards commercial air frying and Lightfry. That’s a significant shift in the market which is really a huge step forward.

The HOST Show was very positive for Lightfry. We are coming back from the show with a lot of opportunities. Our presence generated a significant amount of interest and business opportunities. We left the event with hundreds of leads to follow up on, a clear indicator that underscores the market’s interest and potential in commercial air frying for restaurants, commercial and professional kitchens.

Lightfry’s commitment to innovation, quality, and excellence in the commercial air frying market is unwavering. The reception at the HOST Show 2023 continued to affirm our strong belief in the potential of the Lightfry product range in the global market and the interest it generates.

Energy savings of approx 40%, no cost of oil and lower cost for cleaning

August 30th 2023:

Significant energy savings of approx 40% less has been one of the very positive results by using Lightfry says, one of the owners Mattias Johansson from Blessburgers. Lightfry has been running in Blessburgers operation for more than three years. Lightfry is taking care of mainly French fries which is the main volume product. But with the four Lightfry units they are also cooking chicken wings, chicken nuggets, fish burger, mozzarella sticks, chilli cheese, spicy onion rings and sweet potato fries. With increasing cost of energy it’s great to use energy efficient and self cleaning equipment. “Cost reductions from reduced energy consumption, no cost of oil and lower cost of maintenance of the extraction system are all very welcome in these times with increases of prices on most everything. On top of this we’re very happy that our customers really appreciate the Air Fried food” – says Mattias Johansson.

Lightfry was in focus during a full day of TV production

29th of April 2023:

Lightfry was in focus during a full day of TV production, for Channel 4 in the UK, regarding and for a documentary about Air Fryers and the tremendous boom of the use of domestic Air Fryers. But what is happening on the commercial side with Air Fryers and Air Frying for restaurants? This is where Lightfry – the commercial air fryer is coming in the picture. A lot of focus was on how the Lightfry unit is working in the restaurant kitchen, quality and taste as well as of a blind testing of French fries fried in oil versus air fried French fries from the Lightfry unit. A full day of filming from 9.00 in the morning until 18.00 in the evening. A long and interesting day with a view from behind the cameras. This Documentary will be preliminary on TV, Channel 4, in the end of June.

TFI Canada in Sweden for technical training

23rd of  February 2023:

TFI Canada and their tech leader team has now been in Sweden, Borås for technical training for three days February 21st to 23rd. Having Brian and Matt here is a very important step for starting up the Canadian market with sales and delivery of Lightfry units to the users. To have the whole organization ready for the task from selling to installation, training, service and repair of the sold equipment is extremely important for a great launch of the Lightfry product range in Canada. We’re looking forward to the big launch of Lightfry in the Canadian market during the RC show in Toronto on April 10th – 12th. Thank you very much TFI Canada for letting us have  Matt Davis and Brian Charabaruk for the 3-day technical training. We’re happy to award you both with the diploma, after completion of the “Lightfry Service & Technology Training Progam”

SEK 38.5 m from our Canadian distributor, TFI, which spans over the years 2023-2025. In combination with other outstanding orders, the order backlog amounts to SEK 40 m. In connection with the signing of the exclusive distributor agreement for Canada, the counterclaim was a framework agreement with minimum volumes for the years 2023-2025, which corresponds to SEK 38.5 m. Eatgood is looking forward to the new year 2023 with new and good conditions for higher sales and high growth. The collaboration with TFI will have positive spillover effects to other markets as well, but it is also very exciting to see the outcome of activities against already existing customers at TFI.

General market update and HOST show in Milan

Trade shows and the right distribution channels
We have gotten good response from the last couple of trade shows that we have exhibit, the last one being HOST show in Milan.

From the HOST fair, we collected 230 leads to bring home, from end users to large chain customers and distributors, despite the fact that the number of visitors was only 33% of the number compared to 2019. For Eatgood’s part, we will continue to work hard to find the right distributors and resellers who are good representatives of Lightfry as a brand and who can reach out to each market.

On November 17, we attended a webinar called ENSE group togheter with British distributor Valentine & Cuisinequip. The ENSE group consists of 80 retailers in the UK, 100% focus was on Lightfry. It is very good that Eatgood has opened up the British market as a great complement to the USA.

Other aspescts that point to Lightfry and Air Fry Technology:

  • Energy prices are rising
  • Lightfry has very low energy consumption, eg only 1kW at standby temp of 220 °
  • No risk of oil fire
  • Enables installation almost anywhere with a ventless hood that does not need to be connected to an external and permanently installed ventilation system
  • No logistics of oils
  • No need to send used oil for recycling and destruction
  • Healthier and better food is on the rise globally
  • Sustainability is important today for basically all companies, especially major players
  • Thanks to air fryers for home use, Air Fry Technology is well known and no wonder today
  • Creates opportunities for new concepts or to develop with complementary dishes in existing concepts
  • Supplementation of more air-fried products if a ventilation system does not have more capacity for additional oil fryers in existing systems
  • Reduction of risk of occupational injuries in combination with hot oil
  • No handling of hot oil
  • Also works with installations in moving units such as ships etc in the marine environment
  • Manufacturers of food normally for oil frying are increasing their investment in products for air fryers
  • Ease of use
  • No waiting time between batches being processed, such as to allow the oil to recover and reach the correct temperature of the oil, as when frying in oil
  • Integrated cleaning system for easy handling
  • Reduced costs for sweeping in and out of restaurant premises
  • Longer and better serviceability compared to oil-fried in terms of crispiness and taste

Prerequisite for production

Being able to deliver today in a complex market, in general, with shortages of components, materials and raw materials hits high. In this aspect Lightfry sticks its chin out and delivers a smaller number of units within 10 working days and slightly larger orders in 4 -6 weeks. This is in contrast to many other suppliers who deliver in 4-6 months at best. To have foresight regarding deliveries of components and constituent materials for production, and to have this as a philosophy with a sufficient stock of components to be able to produce without ordering components for each order that comes in, creates freedom and opportunity where the company can control production itself. We also have the advantage of not relying on any component supply from the Far East in principle at all, which has made us considerably less vulnerable both in terms of deliveries but also in the rampant shipping costs.

The market is catching up with Lightfry

There are many aspects that today drive the market towards Air Fry Technology with benefits such as sustainability, economic benefits, energy efficiency, increased installation possibilities and increased taste and product qualities create security for very bright futures. It is not Eatgood and Lightfry that create the change in the market, it is the market itself that drives the change towards Lightfry which makes an investment much more advantageous for the industry’s players. “The market is more mature than ever and we look forward to new collaborations with various players in the market, with interest and curiosity of new opportunities through process technology with a focus on sustainability, healthier and better food, as well as safety in their restaurant kitchens – the change has only just begun ! ” – says Henrik Önnermark, CEO of Eatgood Sweden AB

The Restaurant Show

The Restaurant Show became another successful trade show, we are very happy that we can finally gather and exhibit at physical fairs and meet potential customers as well as interesting people. LightFry is once again getting positive response and people are amazed by its unique technology and the great final products. Air is the new oil!
